News Cast Announced for Madrid Production of Grease After two months of intense tryouts of more than 2,500 candidates of all ages and from all parts of the world, the cast of the musical Grease, which will premiere on Feb. 10, 1999, in Madrid's Lope de Vega Theatre, was revealed on Sept. 9.

After two months of intense tryouts of more than 2,500 candidates of all ages and from all parts of the world, the cast of the musical Grease, which will premiere on Feb. 10, 1999, in Madrid's Lope de Vega Theatre, was revealed on Sept. 9.

Grease will take the place of the musical Man of La Mancha, which will begin touring the North American continent around that time. Its concept album, which was released several months ago, has been ranked among the top ten best-selling albums in Spain.

Among the cast are Geraldine Larrosa (The Fantastiks) as Sandy and Carlos Marín (Man of La Mancha and Les Miserables) as Vince Fontain/Teen Angel.

After its stay in Madrid, Grease! will start a tour similar to that of Man of La Mancha, which will take it along several Latin American countries and end in the United States.

Direction will be by Luis Ramirez. Nacho Artime wrote the lyrics. Choreography will be by Ramon Oller. Following is the complete cast of Grease!:
