News Cast Announced for New Production of David Auburn's Proof at London's Menier Chocolate Factory Emma Cunniffe, Mariah Gale, Matthew Marsh and Jamie Parker will star in the new production of David Auburn's Proof that will begin performances at London's Menier Chocolate Factory March 13 prior to an official opening March 20 for a run through April 27.

Previously seen in London when the Donmar Warehouse produced its UK premiere in 2002 in a production that featured Gwyneth Paltrow, Proof originally premiered on Broadway in 2000, where it won the 2001 Tony Award for Best New Play. It also won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The Menier's new production will be directed by Polly Findlay, who last year directed Antigone at the National Theatre and A Taste of Honey at Sheffield Theatres.

In the play, "Catherine (Gale) has cared for her father Robert (Marsh), a renowned mathematician, through his mental illness for the past five years. His ex-student, Hal (Parker), discovers a ground-breaking proof in Robert’s office but the question is posed: who is the real author of this brilliant work? Catherine struggles to solve this as well the most perplexing problem of all: how much of her father's madness – or genius – has she inherited?"

Gale is currently in Gruesome Playground Injuries at London's Gate. She has been seen on the London stage in Three Sisters at the Young Vic, and appeared in Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet (playing Ophelia to David Tennant's Hamlet) for the RSC. TV includes "Skins" and "Oliver Twist."

Parker was seen as Prince Hal in Henry IV Parts 1 & 2 and Henry V at Shakespeare's Globe in 2010 and 2012, respectively. Other credits include the original cast of The History Boys at the National Theatre, on Broadway and on film; Racing Demon (Sheffield) and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Chichester Festival Theatre and Theatre Royal Haymarket). Screen credits include "Parade's End," "The Hour" and "Valkyrie." Marsh has appeared at the National Theatre in The Last of the Haussmans, Blood and Gifts, The Overwhelming (with Out of Joint) and the original production of Michael Frayn's Copenhagen, which transferred to the Duchess Theatre, where it ran for over 750 performances. Other theatre includes Glengarry Glen Ross (Apollo), No Naughty Bits and Us and Them (Hampstead) and Bingo and A Prayer for My Daughter (Young Vic). Screen credits include "Spooks," "Luther," "Spygame" and "The Iron Lady."

Cunniffe, who plays Claire, has been seen on the London stage in Conquest of the South Pole (Arcola), The Crucible (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), Dumb Show (Rose, Kingston), Losing Louis (Hampstead and Trafalgar Studios) and The Entertainer (Old Vic). Television includes "The Lakes," "Good Cop" and "Southcliffe."

The production will be designed by Helen Goddard with lighting by Paul Anderson and sound by Gregory Clarke.
