SAN DIEGO -- The Old Globe Theatre has announced the cast for What the World Needs Now -- A Musical Fable, by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, which will have its world premiere April 2-May 3.

Roxanne Barlow, John Bolton, Brendan Byrnes, Lindsay Chambers, Misty Cotton, Jack Donahue, Sutton Foster, Christianne Farr-Wersinger, Pamela Gold, Amy Heggins, Jenny Hill, Alicia Irving, Joanne Manning, Adam Matalon, Rod McCune, Paula Newsome, Monica Pege, Jonathan Sharp, Mark Anthony Taylor, Patrick Wilson and Courtney Young are featured.

The musical was conceived by Gillian Lynne (Tony Award-winning choreographer of The Phantom of the Opera) and Kenny Solms. Lynne is the director and choreographer.

In the Globe's small space, the Cassius Carter Stage, David Ives' bill of six off-the-wall one acts, All In The Timing, opens Mar. 28 and runs through May 3, prior to a June 6 transfer to the Geffen Playhouse in L.A.
