The cast is now set for the Off-Broadway world premiere of The Beast in the Jungle, which will begin performances May 4 at the Vineyard Theatre.

Maira Barriga (Miami City Ballet’s Corps De Ballet), Elizabeth Dugas (The Metropolitan Opera’s The Merry Widow), Leah Hofmann (Something Rotten!), Naomi Kakuk (The Producers), Brittany Marcin Maschmeyer (Bullets Over Broadway), and Erin Moore (Shuffle Along) complete the cast of the production, joining the previously announced Tony Yazbeck, Teagle F. Bougere, Irina Dvorovenko, and Peter Friedman.

The original work fusing dance, drama, and music is a collaboration between Tony-winning composer John Kander, Tony-nominated playwright David Thompson, and Tony-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman. The three previously collaborated with the late Fred Ebb on The Scottsboro Boys.

Adapted from Henry James’ 1903 novella, The Beast in the Jungle is the story of John Marcher, a man haunted by personal demons, whose great yet unfulfilled love affair with an unforgettable woman spans decades and continents.

The production will also have set and costume design by Michael Curry, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Peter Hylenski, and music supervision by David Loud.
