News Cast Growing for Hartford Stage's Upcoming Raisin in the Sun Lynda Gravatt, April Yvette Thompson, Crystal Noelle and Billy Eugene Jones will star in the upcoming Hartford Stage production of Lorraine Hansberry's Raisin in the Sun.

Seret Scott directs the forthcoming presentation at the Connecticut playhouse, Feb. 16-Mar. 19, 2006 with a Feb. 24 opening. A Hartford Stage spokesperson confirmed partial casting.

Hansberry's Raisin in the Sun. drama unfolds as a family dealing with the loss of their patriarch come into the fortune of his insurance money in the close quarters of their city home.

Gravatt ( Miss Witherspoon) will star as the Younger matriarch with Thompson (The Exonerated) and Noelle (Hallelujah, Baby! as her daughter-in-law and daughter, respectively, while Jones takes on the newfound man of the house, Walter Lee.

Also appearing in the ensemble will be Albert Jones (Henry IV), Warner Miller, Keith Arthur Bolden and Reginald Davis. More casting to be announced shortly.

Hartford's 42nd anniversary mainstage season will continue in the new year with Eugene O'Neill's A Moon for the Misbegotten (Jan. 5-Feb. 5, 2006), Lorraine Hansberry's drama A Raisin in the Sun (Feb. 16-March 19, 2006), Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur (Apr. 6-May 7, 2006) and Terrence McNally's gritty drama Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune (May 18-June 18, 2006). A production of A Christmas Carol currently plays through Dec. 24.
