The original Broadway cast recording will drop this spring by Masterworks Broadway and Broadway Records. An exact release date will be announced later. Album producers are Chris Nightingale, Michael Croiter, and Tim Minchin.
Groundhog Day, based on the film of the same name, features music and lyrics by Minchin and a book by Danny Rubin. Matthew Warchus directs.
The cast is headed by Tony nominee Andy Karl, who stars as Phil Connors (Karl also starred in the show’s well-received London production at The Old Vic last summer), and newcomer Barrett Doss (You Can’t Take It With You) as Rita Hanson.
Groundhog Day is produced by Whistle Pig, Columbia Live Stage, and The Dodgers, with Michael Watt.
