News Cast of Matilda The Musical Performs on "Late Show with David Letterman" June 11 The cast of Matilda The Musical, winner of four 2013 Tony Awards, will perform on the June 11 broadcast of "The Late Show with David Letterman."

The nightly talk show, hosted by David Letterman, airs in the New York metropolitan area on CBS, Channel 2, beginning at 11:35 PM ET; check local listings.

In addition to its Tony Awards, the new musical received the Best Musical Award from the New York Drama Critics Circle and five Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical. Each of the four girls who share the title role (Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro) received a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater.

Matilda, according to press notes, "is the story of an extraordinary girl who dreams of a better life. Armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, Matilda dares to take a stand and change her destiny."

Produced by The Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, the musical plays Broadway's Shubert Theatre.
