News Cast of [title of show] to Be Part of Whorehouse Benefit The entire cast of the hit Off-Broadway musical [title of show] will be part of the upcoming Actors' Fund of America benefit concert of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Heidi Blickenstaff and Susan Blackwell will portray The Melvin P. Thorpe Singers in the Whorehouse concert, which will be presented Oct. 16 concert at the August Wilson Theatre. Show time is 7:30 PM.

The [title of show] foursome joins the previously announced Harry Groener as the Governor, Andrea McArdle as Doatsy Mae, Felicia Finley as Angel, Mary Faber as Shy, Richard Kind as Senator Wingwoah and "American Idol" finalist Constantine Maroulis as an Aggie soloist. The ensemble will also include Michelle Kittrell, Amber Efe, J. Elaine Marcos, Rachelle Rak, Christina Norrup, Angie Schworer, Joyce Chittick, Jen Cody, Dennis Stowe, Bret Shuford, Jeff Lewis, Jason Patrick Sands, Will Taylor and Justin Greer.

Mark S. Hoebee will direct the one-night-only event, which will feature choreography by Denis Jones, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, set design by Paul Weimer and costume design by Michael Growler. Seth Rudetsky will once again be the musical director as well as the artistic producer for the annual semi-staged concert. Steven Yuhasz and Tim Pinckney are the producers.

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas features a score by Carol Hall and a book by Larry L. King and Peter Masterson based on the infamous Texas brothel, the Chicken Ranch. The musical, co-directed by Peter Masterson and Tommy Tune, opened on Broadway in 1978, playing 1,584 performances. Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton starred in the film version.
