Cusi Cram's play, which will run through July 17 with an official opening July 7, won the Herrick Theatre Foundation Prize for New Play in 2004, a competition that featured over 1,000 submitted scripts. The Barrington production, directed by Sturgis Warner, will feature Paolo Andino, Lucia Brawley, Michael Ray Escamilla, Zabryna Guevara, Piter Marek and Jeanine Serralles. Fuente, according to production notes, "mingles the reality of people’s strongest emotions — love, hate and revenge — with a touch of surreal magic, to create a play that ultimately tells a universal story about the need to strike out on your own and find a new life." Fuente, which is the Spanish word for fountain, is recommended for "mature audiences."
The creative team comprises Brian Prather (scenic design), Ben Courtney (lighting design) and Guy Lee Bailey (costume design).
Tickets for Fuente are available by calling (413) 528-8888. The Consolati Performing Arts Center is located in Sheffield, MA. Visit www.barringtonstageco.org for more information.
