Massey will also appear in the show opposite Christopher Kale Jones, George McDaniel, Nancy Ringham and Katie Thompson. Opening night is set for Sept. 29.

Scott C. Embler will direct, and the creative team will also include Shoko Kambara (scenic design), Paul Miller (lighting design), Jennifer Ganske (costume design), Christopher Cronin and Carl Casella (sound design), Kevin Frech (projections design) and Michael Morris (orchestrations and arrangements).

"With raw honesty and dark wit, a musician explores destiny, faith, forgiveness...and the ties that bind," according to press notes for the new musical.

Massey has produced, engineered and released two albums of his songs, written and directed the short film "Katie Bar the Door," appeared as an actor on the television series "Hack" and  recorded voices for all eight characters in the pilot episode of "Bussy" for the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
