Musical Theatre Guild’s 23rd season will launch September 23 with a concert version of the Jerry Herman classic Mame. The 7 PM performance will be held at Glendale’s historic Alex Theatre.

The cast will feature Kelly Lester as Mame Dennis, Barbara Carlton Heart as Vera Charles, Will Collyer as Patrick Dennis, Melissa Fahn as Agnes Gooch, Brent Schindele as Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside, Glenn Shiroma as Ito, Michael Kostroff as Dwight Babcock, and Travis Burnett as Young Patrick.

The ensemble includes Katie DeShan, Tal Fox, Anthony Gruppuso, Pamela Hamill, Glenn Rosenblum, Todd Gajdusek, Tonoccus McClain, Michelle Lane, Nikki Elena Spies, and Natalia Vivino.

Lewis Wilkenfeld will direct with choreography by Heather Castillo, musical direction by Cassie Nickols, and production supervision by Kristi Holden.

Based on Patrick Dennis' novel Auntie Mame, the Tony-winning musical features a score by Herman and a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The show centers on an inspirational freethinker who refuses to live by the rules of 1920s society. When she takes on the rearing of her ten-year-old orphaned nephew Patrick, she turns his life into one wild adventure after another. Along the way, she shows him how to celebrate life and live each moment to the fullest.

The Alex Theatre is located at 216 N. Brand Blvd in Glendale. Season and single tickets are available by visiting or by calling (818) 243-ALEX.
