Artistic director Steven Carl McCasland will helm the production, which will feature the talents of Mallory Berlin (A Doll's Life) in the the title role, Peter Oliver as Avigdor and Kim Sweet as Hadass with Leonardo Abraham, Luke Anthony, Kira Chirstoforidis, Jael Golad, Orlando Iriarte, Alexander Kafarakis, Evan Kaplan, Anna Kirkland, James Asher Rees, Yael Shavitt, Yarden Shoval and Noelle Stewart.

Adapted from the classic story by Leah Napolin from Singer's short story, the play, according to press notes, "chronicles the journey of a young woman who defies the laws of her people to pursue a dream. Filled with a love of Torah, Yentl becomes Anshel - a man - and lives in hiding while studying at the Yeshiva. Entangled in a web of lies, Anshel befriends Avigdor and marries Hadass, taking both on a journey they won't soon forget."

Last seen on Broadway in 1976 with Tovah Feldshuh in the title role, Yentl was later immortalized on film in a music-filled adaptation starring and directed by Barbra Streisand.

The upcoming production will also feature music direction by Luke Anthnony, lighting design by Daisy Long and costume design by Steven Buechler. Chasmin Hallyburton stage manages.

A portion of proceeds will benefit the Jewish Women's Foundation of New York, "imagining a world in which all women and girls in the Jewish community are ensured a healthy and supportive environment… a world in which we all have equal opportunity for economic, religious, social and political achievement."
