The company will also include Alli Mauzey, Jeffrey Rockwell and Brent Schindele. Pamela Hunt, who directed and choreographed the New York production of the hit musical, will repeat her chores for the Laguna production, which begins previews July 5 with an official opening on July 9. The limited engagement — featuring musical direction by Jeffrey Rockwell — will play through Sept. 4. The creative team will also include the New York designers: Mary Jo Dondlinger (lighting design), John Carver Sullivan (costume design) and James Morgan (scenic design).

Featuring music by Eric Rockwell, lyrics by Joanne Bogart and a book by Rockwell and Bogart, The Musical of Musicals is a satire of various musical theatre genres. One story is played five times, each in the style of a different musical theatre composer or team, including Rodgers and Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim and Kander and Ebb.
