News Casting Announced for CTG's Bengal Tiger; Kaufman Directs Moisés Kaufman, currently represented on Broadway with his new play 33 Variations, will direct Rajiv Joseph's Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, CA.

Presented by Center Theatre Group, previews will begin May 10 with an official opening May 17. Performances will continue through June 7.

The cast will comprise Glenn Davis, Brad Fleischer, Arian Moayed, Kevin Tighe, Hrach Titizian, Sheila Vand and Necar Zadegan.

Bengal Tiger, according to press notes, is a "lyrical, haunting new play set against the backdrop of the war in Iraq, in which the lives and, in some cases, the afterlives of two American soldiers, an Iraqi translator, the ghost of Saddam Hussein's son Uday, and a Bengal tiger all intersect in a surreal, darkly humorous and gently balanced view of war and its aftermath."

The production feautres set design by Derek McLane, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by David Lander and sound design by Cricket S. Myers. Peter Golub serves as composer; the production stage manager is Vanessa J. Noon.
