News Casting Announced for Forthcoming Productions at London's Young Vic, Including John Heffernan, Anna Maxwell Martin Casting has been announced for major new productions at London's Young Vic Theatre. These include John Heffernan and Anna Maxwell Martin starring in Macbeth in the title role and as Lady Macbeth respectively; Paul Ready and Zubin Varla joining the previously announced Romola Garai in Measure for Measure to play Angelo and the Duke respectively; and Sam Troughton returning to the Young Vic in La Musica.

William Shakespeare's Measure for Measure begins performances Oct. 1 prior to an official opening Oct. 8 for a run through Nov. 14 in the Main House. The show will also feature Hammed Animashaun (Elbow/Provost), Tom Edden (Pompey), Ivanno Jeremiah (Claudio), John Mackay (Lucio), Sarah Malin (Escalus), Natalie Simpson (Juliet), Cath Whitefield (Mariana) and Matthew Wynn (Barnardine). It is directed by Joe Hill-Gibbins. Shakespeare's Macbeth, which will begin performances Nov. 26 prior to an official opening Dec. 3 for a run through Jan. 16 in the Main House, will also feature Mark Ebulue, Thomasin Gulgeç, Ira Siobhan Mandela, Ana Beatriz Meireles, Prasanna Puwanarajah and Clemmie Sveaas. Co-produced with Birmingham REP and HOME in Manchester, it will run at the former Jan. 26-30 and at the latter Feb. 2-6. It is co-directed by Carrie Cracknell and Lucy Guerin.

La Musica, which runs in the Maria Studio beginning performances Sept. 24 prior to an official opening Oct. 2 for a run through Oct. 17, will feature Emily Barclay and Sam Troughton as an estranged couple in Marguerite Duras's play, adapted by Barbara Bray. Both actors have previously appeared at the Young Vic: Barclay in Three Sisters in 2012, and Troughton in Bull and Three Sisters. It is directed by Jeff James.
