News Casting Announced for Free From Up Here Reading The Next Step Workshop series at the Ars Nova will continue Nov. 3 with a free reading of Liz Flahive's From Up Here.

Directed by Leigh Silverman, the reading will feature the talents of Talia Balsam, Scott Ferrara, Emily Grace, Samantha Mathis, Will Rogers, Matthew Stadelmann, Joel Van Liew and Halley Wegryn-Gross. Show time is 3 PM. "After a misguided cry for help goes awry," reads From Up Here press notes, "Kenny Barrett's every move is closely monitored by people clamoring to 'help' him. But withstanding all the rehab and repair proves to be a bigger challenge than getting through his senior year. A comedy about surviving high school, siblings, school dances, mountaintops, and awkward love songs for ungrateful girls."

Playwright Liz Flahive is a 2001 graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Department of Dramatic Writing. She is also the author of the ten-minute plays See Jane. . . and Last Word.
