News Casting Announced for Regional Premiere of Kitt-Green High Fidelity St. Louis' New Line Theatre will present the short-lived Tom Kitt-Amanda Green musical High Fidelity June 12-July 5.

The New Line production marks High Fidelity's first staging since its 2006 Broadway debut. Based on the Nick Hornby novel of the same title and the subsequent 2000 film, High Fidelity's musical incarnation features a score by Kitt, lyrics by Green and a book by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire.

High Fidelity follows the story of record-store owner Rob (and constant Top 5 listmaker) who — when things in his current relationship go sour — revisits his former relationships to find out where he went wrong.

The cast for the regional premiere comprises Jeffrey M. Wright (Rob), Kimi Short (Laura), Aaron Lawson (Dick), Zachary Allen Farmer (Barry), Monica Robinson (Liz), Mary C. Crouch, Amanda Densmore, Patrick Donnigan, Joel Hackbarth, Andrew T. Hampton, Todd Micali, Katie Nestor, Margeau Baue Steinau, and Lori White.

New Line artistic director Scott Miller will stage the production with choreography by resident choreographer Robin Michelle Berger. High Fidelity's creative team also includes Trisha Bakula (stage manager), David Carr and Jeffery Breckel (set designers), Michael Bergfeld (lighting designer) and Amy Kelly (costume designer).

Founded in 1991, New Line Theatre's mission statement is "to involve the people of the St. Louis region in the creation and exploration of provocative, alternative, politically and socially relevant works of musical theatre – daring, muscular, intelligent theatre about politics, race, violence, drugs, sexuality, religion, art, obscenity, the media, and other contemporary issues." High Fidelity will play Washington University's A.E. Hotchner Studio Theatre, located at 6445 Forsyth Blvd. in St. Louis. Tickets are available by phoning (314) 534-1111 or by visiting www.newlinetheatre.com.

The Broadway production of High Fidelity, helmed by Walter Bobbie and co-starring Will Chase and Jenn Colella, played only 18 previews and 14 regular performances at the Imperial Theatre. A subsequent cast album was released on Ghostlight Records.
