News Casting Announced for Show Choir! – The Musical at NYMF Casting has been announced for Show Choir! – The Musical, which will be presented Sept. 28-Oct. 11 at American Theatre of Actors, as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Gary Slavin will direct a cast featuring Zi Alikhan, Kyle G. Bailey, Jarad Benn, Mick Bonde, Leigh Ellen Caudill, Hannah Corrigan, Lynn Craig, Kara DeYoe, Shira Elias, John Farchione, Julie Galorenzo, Jenn Zarine Habeck, Andrew Holder, William Goulet Keane, Amy Linden, Steve Luker, Neal Mayer, Michelle Millerick, Macaela C. Sears, Rachel Sussman and Don Whitmore.

The show features book, music and lyrics by Mark McDaniels and Donald Garverick. Slavin and Garverick will co-choreograph the show and Kenneth Gartman will provide musical direction.

According to press notes, Show Choir! – The Musical is "an original musical comedy that takes place in a not too distant future, when international pop phenomenon The Symphonic Sensations rise from a small town high school show choir, to big time show biz success, complete with an explosion of tight harmonies & jazz hands. As the music bio TV documentary 'Beyond the Façade' follows their thrilling path to fame & adoration by millions, the highs & lows of celebrity are exposed in this musical comedy exploration of America’s favorite extracurricular activity."

Show Choir! was first presented at the 2007 New York International Fringe Festival, where it received two Fringe Awards for Overall Excellence. This AEA showcase production will feature scenic and costume design by Anne Auberjonois and lighting design by Susan Nicholson. Joseph Fletcher is stage manager. Sound Street Productions  and Julie Miller will produce.
