News Casting Announced for Studio Tenn's The Sound of Music, Starring Jessica Grové and Ben Davis Studio Tenn Theatre Company will present The Sound of Music, starring Jessica Grové (A Little Night Music) and Ben Davis (Les Misérables) as Maria and Captain Von Trapp, respectively, beginning May 31 at Tennessee's historic Franklin Theatre.

Directed and designed by Studio Tenn artistic director Matt Logan, the musical, which features a score by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, will continue through June 17.

Joining Grové, who has also been seen on Broadway in Les Misérables, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Sunday in the Park with George, and Davis, who shares a Tony Award for his work in Broadway's La Bohème, will be Nan Gurley as the Mother Abbess, Marguerite Lowell Hall as the Baroness, Matthew Carlton as Uncle Max, Kelsey Self as Liesl, Douglas Waterbury-Tieman as Rolf, Jack Alcott as Friedrich, Annabelle Fox as Louisa, Mary Marguerite Hall as Brigitta, Matthew Dyra as Kurt, Virginia Richardson as Marta and Bella Higginbotham as Gretel.

Rounding out the cast are Shelean Newman, David Compton, Emily Webb, Melodie Madden Adams and Linda Sue Simmons Runyeon.



Other members of the creative team include executive producer Jake Speck, choreographer Emily Tello, music director and conductor Chris Rayis and vocal director Laura Matula.
