News Casting Announced for York Theatre Company's Free Readings of New Musicals Juice and Seven Little Foys The York Theatre Company's Developmental Reading Series will continue July 12-13 at 3 PM.

John Margulis will direct a cast that includes David Arthur, Cyrilla Baer, Lindsay Nicole Chambers, Matt Dengler, Kate Fahrner, Tony Triano and Stuart Zagnit. Larry Pressgrove is musical director.

In Juice, according to the York, "a young man plans to rob a banker and his wife of the money the banker got by defrauding his customers, but he is caught in a dilemma when he falls in love with the banker's young wife."

Seven Little Foys, written, arranged and directed by Chip Deffaa, will be offered July 13. Featuring songs from the repertoire of Eddie Foy and his family as well as originals by Deffaa, the performance will include Zac Ballard, Beth Bartley, Emily Bordonaro, Alex Dreier, Devon Eddy, Ethan Haberfield, Matthew Nardozzi, Casie Pepe-Winshell, Colin Pritchard and Michael Townsend Wright. Music director is Richard Danley.

Based on actual events, The Seven Little Foys, according to press notes, tells the story of "Eddie Foy, a famous entertainer who took his seven rambunctious kids into vaudeville with him after their mother died. The kids became the most celebrated family act of the era--an American institution. Out on the road, facing legal challenges from reformers who felt kids had no business being on the stage, the Foys learned the true meaning of family." The readings are free to the public at The York Theatre at Saint Peter’s (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
