The Manhattan Theatre Club production of Adam Bock's play will begin previews Oct. 12 with an official opening Oct. 30. Joe Mantello will direct the production, which will feature scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt and sound design by Darron L. West.
The play, according to press notes, is described as such: "Beverly takes pride in her work as the receptionist at a busy Northeast office. Whether coaching her co-worker Lorraine through romantic troubles, fielding calls for their boss Mr. Raymond or carefully monitoring the flow of office supplies, Beverly keeps her domain shipshape. But when handsome Mr. Dart arrives unexpectedly from the central office, Beverly is charmed, Lorraine is smitten and Mr. Raymond is caught completely off guard."
In other MTC news, Itamar Moses' The Four of Us will be the final production of the season; previews are scheduled to begin March 6 on Stage II with an official opening March 25. Pam MacKinnon will direct the play's New York premiere; no casting has been announced.
"When Benjamin's first novel vaults him into literary stardom," The Four of Us press notes read, "his friend David, a struggling playwright, is thrilled for his newfound success...or is he? Should Benjamin help David by using his new connections? Can David even expect such favors from his friend? And, most importantly, who should pay for lunch? [It] is a poignant new play about friendship and memory, the gap between our stories and our lives, and what happens when your dreams come true - for your best friend."
