News Casting Complete for Mufti Miss Liberty Casting has been announced for the York Theatre Company's upcoming production of Miss Liberty.

Part of the York's acclaimed "Musicals in Mufti" series, the Irving Berlin/Robert Sherwood musical will be directed by Michael Montel and will play five performances Dec. 9-11. The company will include Jerry Christakos, Erick Devine, David Garry, Nikki James, Julie Kotarides, David Larsen, Patricia O'Connell, Fred Rose, Roland Rusinek, Deborah Jean Templin, Tom Treadwell, Nick Verina and Carla Woods. Performance dates are Dec. 9 at 8 PM, Dec. 10 at 2:30 and 8 PM and Dec. 11 at 2:30 and 7:30 PM. Miss Liberty, according to press notes, is a "musical comedy set in 1895, at the time of the Statue of Liberty's dedication, which centers on a NY newspaper reporter's trip to Paris to find the model who posed for the statue.  Antic and romantic complications ensue." The musical opened at Broadway's Imperial Theatre in 1949, playing over 300 performances. Moss Hart directed with choreography by Jerome Robbins; the company featured Eddie Albert and Mary McCarty.

The "Musicals in Mufti" series presents musicals in staged concert settings. "Mufti" means "in street clothes, without the usual trappings."
