News Casting Complete for Musicals Tonight! Mounting of The Boy Friend Complete casting has been announced for the upcoming concert staging of The Boy Friend, which will kick off the new season of Musicals Tonight!, Sept. 25-Oct. 7.

The evenings at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre will be directed by Thomas Sabella-Mills with musical direction by David Bishop. The cast will include Kathryn Holtkamp, Esther David, Jeremy Michael, Lauren Ruff, Marnie Buckner, Alice Ann Robinson, Sarah Sawyer, Stephen Stubbins, Ian Laskowski, Drew Pournelle, Stefen Basti, Dan Debenport, John O'Creagh, SuEllen Estey and Jacque Carnahan.

The Boy Friend features a score and book by Sandy Wilson. The musical, which ran for six years in London before arriving in New York with a cast led by Julie Andrews, includes such songs as "It's Never Too Late to Fall in Love," "Won't You Charleston With Me?," "I Could Be Happy With You," "Fancy Forgetting" and "Poor Little Pirette."

The musical, according to press notes, is described as such: "Heiress Polly Browne (Kathryn Holtkamp) is the only girl at Mme Dubonnet's (Esther David) finishing school who doesn't have a boy friend. With the Riviera Ball looming, she meets messenger boy Tony (Jeremy Michael) and a romance blossoms. Love triumphs in spite of mistaken identity. Along the way, schoolmates Dulcie (Lauren Ruff), Maisie (Marnie Buckner), Fay (Alice Ann Robinson) and Nancy (Sarah Sawyer) Charleston up a storm with their beaux - American-born Bobby (Stephen Stubbins), Marcel (Ian Laskowski), Pierre (Drew Pournelle) and Alphonse (Stefen Basti). Polly’s neglectful father (Dan Debenport) shows up and realizes he and Mme Dubonnet once. . . . Lord and Lady Brockhurst (John O'Creagh and SuEllen Estey) show up and realize they never have. . . . The school's maid (Jacque Carnahan) tries to help the girls get the boys."

Victor Herbert's Naughty Marietta will play Oct. 9-21. Set in 1870s New Orleans, the operetta features the songs "Sweet Mystery of Life," "Tramp! Tramp! Tramp!," "I'm Falling in Love With Someone," "Italian Street Song" and "Live for Today."

"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" is perhaps the best-known tune from Jerome Kern's Roberta, which will run March 6-18. The Broadway production featured Bob Hope and George Murphy, while the Hollywood remake starred Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Irene Dunne.

Half a Sixpence, which is based on H.G. Wells' novel about "a shop assistant who finds money cannot buy happiness," will be presented April 1-13. Its songs include "All in the Cause of Economy," "She's Too Far Above Me," "If the Rain's Got to Fall," "Money to Burn" and "Flash, Bang, Wallop!"

Cole Porter's Paris will conclude the season, running April 15-27. "A marriage between an American 'blueblood' and an actress is happily thwarted by true love," according to press notes. Porter's score includes "Don't Look at Me That Way," "Let's Do It," "Let's Misbehave," "Which Is the Right Life?" and "Dizzy Baby."
