The 38th Annual Artios Awards were presented March 9 by the Casting Society, honoring the best in casting professionals in film, TV, and theatre around the world. The dual coast event happened simultaneously at Los Angeles' The Beverly Hilton Hotel and New York City's The Edison Ballroom, the former hosted by Yvette Nicole Brown and the latter by Some Like It Hot book writer and comic Amber Ruffin.
Among the winners in theatrical categories were casting professionals from Broadway's Company and Take Me Out, along with Fairycakes, Wish You Were Here, and Trevor. Also recognized was Netflix's Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, based on the West End and Broadway musical, which took the Big Budget Comedy category for casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann; and Annie Live!, whose casting directors Bernard Telsey and Patrick Goodwin won in the Live Television Performance Variety or Sketch category. In non-competitive categories, Rita Moreno received the Lynn Stalmaster Award, Leslee Feldman the Hoyt Bowers Award, and Jessica Sherman the Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Award. Black Theatre United was honored with the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award, while the 2023 European Capelier-Shaw Award was posthumously awarded to Simone Bär.
