News Casting Set for New U.K. National Tour of Chicago A new U.K. national tour of John Kander and Fred Ebb's Chicago, which will begin performances at Oxford's New Theatre Feb. 12, 2016, is to feature John Partridge as Billy Flynn, Hayley Tamaddon as Roxie Hart and Sam Bailey as Mama Morton. Further casting is still to be announced.



Partridge, who was most recently seen on the West End stage playing Zach in the revival of A Chorus Line at the London Palladium, has had a long career in West End musicals, including appearances in Cats.

Tamaddon, who has just finished playing Andrea Beckett in "Coronation Street" and was the winner of the 5th series of the U.K.'s "Dancing on Ice," has appeared onstage as The Lady of the Lake in Spamalot and Janet in The Rocky Horror Show.



Bailey is best known for winning the tenth series of the U.K.'s "The X Factor," subsequently releasing her debut single "Skyscraper," which topped the charts. Her debut album "The Power of Love" also achieved the number one position on the album charts. Prior to working professionally as a singer, she worked as a prison officer at HM Prison Gartree for three years until 2013.

Chicago, which is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, has a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Scenic design is by John Lee Beatty with costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting by Ken Billington and sound by Rick Clarke. Musical supervision is by Rob Fisher. It is choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse and directed by Walter Bobbie.

The tour is produced by David Ian and Michael Watt.
