Leo Ash Evens will play the Tenor in Character Breakdown

The 8 PM concerts will feature musical direction by Eric Walton. Walton will also be featured on piano with Christopher Downes on bass. The four-member cast will comprise Matt Castle (Broadway's Company revival), MAC Award winner Julie Reyburn, Leo Ash Evens (Gypsy at the Ravinia Festival) and Kathleen McCann. The song cycle features music and lyrics by Charles Bloom.

Character Breakdown, according to press notes, "reunites the audience with four familiar archetypes in musical theatre literature: the prim Soprano (Reyburn), the brassy Alto (McCann), the self-absorbed Tenor (Evens) and the barrel-chested, romantic Baritone (Castle). We first meet them in their safe, secure world of art, where everything is provided for them: songs, words, thoughts, and as always a happy ending. But what happens when feelings of discontent invade the world of art and they decide to switch roles and escape into the real world?"

Performances will be held in the upper lobby cabaret space of the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, 312 West 36th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues. Tickets, priced $15 (includes one drink), are available by calling (212) 868-4444 or by visiting www.smarttix.com.
