Matt de Rogatis, who played Brick in Ruth Stage's Off-Broadway production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, has joined the cast of the upcoming Off-Broadway premiere of James McLure’s dark comedy Lone Star, which will begin previews November 25 prior to an official opening December 3 at Theatre Row.

The actor will play Roy in the upcoming production, which will also feature the previously announced Ryan McCartan (Wicked, Frozen) as Cletis and Ana Isabelle (Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story) as Elizabeth.

Joe Rosario (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) will direct the Ruth Stage production, set to continue through December 23. Additional casting and creative team members will be announced.

Ruth Stage has been granted permission from the McLure Estate to combine elements of Lone Star’s sister play, Laundry and Bourbon, to create the upcoming adaptation. Lone Star takes place in the cluttered backyard of a small-town Texas bar. After Vietnam, Roy is back in town, battling symptoms of PTSD, and joined by his younger brother Ray.

Live music from the Vietnam era will be woven throughout the play. The production will also feature an original song written and performed by Isabelle.

Lone Star is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC.
