The two-person musical received its world premiere at Barrington Stage Company in August 2010. Tony Award nominee Cox (Footloose, Baby) and Drama Desk nominee Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair) appeared in that engagement and will repeat their performances as mother and daughter.
The Memory Show has music by Redler, with book and lyrics by Cooper. Joe Calarco will direct the April 14-May 18, 2013, engagement at the Duke on 42nd Street.
The Memory Show is billed as "a tale of mother and daughter and their struggle to make sense of their relationship when faced with disease and hardship. The Memory Show combines evocative and powerful contemporary music with a humorous, touching and heartfelt examination of colliding perceptions, truths, desires and memories that are inherent in familial relationships."
As previously reported, the Transport Group will open its season with a stage adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's autobiographical essay "House for Sale" which will begin previews Oct. 13 towards an Oct. 21 opening at the Duke.
