Performances play the American Theatre of Actors, where Urinetown played prior to Broadway, 314 W. 54th Street.
Bare began previews March 25 and opened on April 19 and has consistently played to packed houses, according to an announcement.
Bare "explores the pains and pleasures of five high school seniors at a co-ed Catholic boarding school as they struggle to grow up in these complicated, conflicted, contemporary times. Each of them question where they are in their lives. Answers are sought in the church confessional and in less formal venues including a stage, a rave, and a well-locked dorm room."
A limited run in L.A. blossomed into a four-month stay that snagged awards and got its two 26-year-old writers and 23-year-old director noticed.
Off-Broadway performances play 8 PM Monday and 8 PM Wednesday-Saturday and 7 PM Sunday. Matinees are 2 PM Saturday and Sunday. For more information, visit www.bareapopopera.com.

The underdog show has been shepherded by Dodger Productions, the major American producing company known for Broadway hits such as Urinetown, 42nd Street.
The musical by twentysomethings Jon Hartmere Jr. and Damon Intrabartolo won the L.A. Weekly Award for Best Musical, the Ovation Award for Best Musical and the L.A. Drama Critics Award for Best Score.
Variety called the show "a magnificent, monumentally ambitious, totally original contemporary musical."
Given its link to the Dodgers and its Broadway-caliber design team, including David Gallo and David Woolard, the show would seem to be poised toward a more ambitious commercial run in Manhattan.
