As part of its annual holiday promotion, the Broadway musical Cats will significantly lower its prices, not now and forever, but Mondays through-Wednesdays from Dec. 2, 1996 to March 16, 1997. All seats during that period will be $15 for balcony, $30 for orchestra (as opposed to Cats' $70 top at other times. There are two catches: tickets must be ordered before Nov. 23, and the prices aren't valid during the actual holiday week, Dec. 25-Jan. 5, 1997.
Cats, which tonight (Oct. 14) passes Oh! Calcutta to become the second longest-running show in Broadway history, currently stars Ron DeVito as Rum Tum Tugger and Liz Callaway as Grizabella. In June 1997, the Andrew Lloyd Webber/T.S. Eliot musical will surpass A Chorus Line to become the longest-running Broadway show of all time.
