Written by Hilary Winston and directed by Don Scardino, series regulars include Ari Graynor (Meredith Davis), Kristin Davis (Ginny), David Alan Grier (Principal Carl Gaines), Sara Gilbert (Irene), Ryan Hansen (Joel) and Sara Rodier (Lily).
The guest cast features Caitlin Kimball (Kim), Kat Foster (Brie), Gracie Kaufman (Bronwen), Madison De La Garza (Kelsey), Anthony Keyvan (Parker), Yara Shahidi (Jalissa), Seth Lucas Bowen (Noah), Josh Casaubon (Dr. Grant), Bailey Gambertoglio (Jamie), Ava Allan (Bella), John Getz (Howard), Lyle Kanouse (Janitor), Ptolemy Slocum (Nerdy Dad), Jessalyn Wanlim (Margo) and Aisha Kabia (Tanya).
"Former trophy wife Meredith Davis seeks a return to a life of leisure and luxury by posing as a teacher at an upscale elementary school to meet the students’ rich, single fathers and land one to marry," according to production notes. "However, her plan hits a major snag and she faces exposure when her unconventional – and mostly unsuitable – teaching methods raise the suspicions of a fellow faculty member."
The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
Based on the novel and film by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the new musical will reunite Guettel with Tony-winning Light in the Piazza director Bartlett Sher.
