Talk about your in-depth reporting. "CBS This Morning" reporter Eleanor Mondale will join the cast of The Sound of Music for one performance as part of a story on what it's like to be in a Broadway show.

Show spokesman Peter Cromarty said Mondale's one-day-only Broadway debut was sure to happen, but details about when and what part she would play are still being worked out. It will most likely happen this summer and a speaking role has not been ruled out. No word on when the segment will air on CBS.

Mondale is the daughter of former vice-president and presidential candidate Walter Mondale.

The Sound of Music opened at the Martin Beck Theatre Mar. 12, 1998. Rebecca Luker and Michael Siberry head the cast. Susan H. Schulman directed.
