We are happy to welcome guest celebrity blogger Montego Glover, a 2010 Tony nominee for her performance in Memphis. Glover, who has also been seen on Broadway in The Color Purple, has blogged for Playbill.com all week; her final entry follows:
Hi guys,
Today is Friday. The last day of my blog, and I wanted to thank Playbill.com for allowing my to be here with you. Thank you Playbill.com!
Friday is the day I reap the rewards of Thursday...payday! I was thinking this morning how awesome it is to do the thing I love to do most in the world and earn a living doing it. I actually earn a living doing my dream job. Who knew? It's one thing to know that you want to be a part of such a noble profession but to have that hard work and time honored and compensated is glorious. I often say that I'm a regular girl with an extraordinary job, and Thursdays remind me that I can continue to be just that. Save for retirement, plan a vacation, get Christmas gifts, donate, and pay the bills!...doing what I love.
So as I'm popping by my dressing room at the Shubert, I get a call from my powerhouse of an agent Josh Pultz. Love Josh. And he says, "I need to stop by your dressing room briefly." Ok, that's either gonna be great news or really bad news. I say, "Come on over," and he does. As he approaches my dressing room door, I see it. Robin's Egg Blue with white ribbon and black lettering. Josh says, "This is for you, a little something to let you know how proud I am of you." He kisses my cheek and hands me the Tiffany & Co. bag. Inside is a beautiful gift.
Talk about happy? Making my living doing what I love, being appreciated and seen by my awesome agent, and knowing that at night I'll be back at the theatre to live it again is in a word...marvelous.
Thanks for reading this week. It's been so cool to share a little of me with all of you.
See 'ya soon!
