News Celebrating 300 Performances, Hair Tour Resumes on Broadway Aug. 29 The national tour of the 2008 Tony Award-winning revival of Hair, which is currently celebrating a Broadway victory lap with a special summer engagement at the St. James Theatre, resumes performances Aug. 29 to celebrate its 300th performance.

Hair, along with the rest of Broadway, went dark this weekend as New York City braced for the arrival of Hurricane Irene. As the sun began to shine Aug. 29, producers announced that performances would resume at the St. James and many theatres across the city.

As part of the Aug. 29 performance, Hair is also offering a special $50 ticket discount for any Hair fan married after June 21, 2011. The discount, available to all couples on Aug. 29, celebrates New York State's landmark legislation passing gay marriage equality. A copy of a marriage license must be presented at the box office in order to take advantage of the offer for rear orchestra and mezzanine seating.

It has also been announced that Kacie Sheik, who originated the role of Jeanie in the 2007 Delacorte Theater concert presentation of Hair and repeated her work on Broadway, London and on tour, will play her final performance Sept. 10 when the Broadway engagement ends. Also departing will be Arbender Robinson and Cailan Rose.

When the tour resumes performances Sept. 20 at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, TX, it will welcome Aleque Reid as Jeanie, Max Kumangai and Anne Markt to the tribe. The national tour launched Oct. 22, 2010, in New Haven, CT.

The cast also includes Steel Burkhardt as Berger, Paris Remillard as Claude, Matt DeAngelis as Woof, Kaitlin Kiyan as Crissy, Darius Nichols as Hud, London cast member Phyre Hawkins as Dionne and Central Park cast member Caren Lyn Tackett as Sheila. Completing the tribe are Shaleah Adkisson, Emily Afton, Nicholas Belton, Larkin Bogan, Corey Bradley, Marshal Kennedy Carolan, Laura Dreyfuss, Mike Evariste, Lulu Fall, Tripp Fountain, Nkrumah Gatling, Allison Guinn, Sara King, Josh Lamon, John Moauro, Christine Nolan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Tanesha Ross, Jen Sese and Lee Zarrett.

Tony Award nominee Diane Paulus, who is at work on a new Broadway-bound production of Porgy and Bess, staged the acclaimed revival.

Hair has book and lyrics by the late Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. The Hair creative team includes set designer Scott Pask, costume designer Michael McDonald, lighting designer Kevin Adams and sound designer Acme Sound Partners.

Hair is presented by The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director), Joey Parnes, Nederlander Productions Inc., Carl Moellenberg/Wenlarbar Productions, Rebecca Gold/Myla Lerner, Rick Costello, Joy Newman & David Schumeister, Paul G. Rice/Paul Bartz, Debbie Bisno, Christopher Hart Productions, John Pinckard, Terry Schnuck, and by special arrangement with Elizabeth Ireland McCann.
