The theme of Jono Mainelli's new cabaret show, "16 Bars: Notes From an Audition Pianist," is, not surprisingly, auditioning. Mainelli knows a little something about the subject; he has played piano at many an audition for many a year. Mainelli will sing a variety of songs on the subject of trying out for musicals at the Triad in Manhattan, where his act will play June 19 and 26. At the June 19 show, sitting in will be Tony and Oscar winner Celeste Holm. Mainelli will chat with Holm about auditioning for the likes of Richard Rodgers and Harold Arlen during the heyday of Broadway, and -- in what is likely to be the highlight of the show -- endeavor to recreate the audition that won her the part of Ado Annie in Oklahoma!.
