Jesse L. Martin (Rent, "Law & Order") and Mariska Hargitay ("Law & Order: SVU") will co-host the event, which takes place at 7 PM at the Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, with dinner to follow at Chinatown Brasserie.

Our Time is an artistic home for young people who stutter. Lipton (of TV's "Twin Peaks"), who used to stutter, will receive the company's fifth annual Our Time Award, given to someone who is an inspiration to those with the affliction.

The young members of the company will perform their own writing alongside the professional actors. Others scheduled to perform include Rory Albanese, Lewis Black, Nadia Dajani, Adriane Lenox, Tiffany McElroy, Rob Morrow, Ron Rifkin, Ramon Rodriguez, Grant Shaud, Mary Testa, Callie Thorne, the cast of Stomp and "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" cast members Dan Bakkedahl, John Oliver and Rob Riggle.

The chair for the event is Liz Tuccillo, and the honorary chairs are Chelsea Field and Scott Bakula.

Past recipients of the Our Time Award include Austin Pendleton, Dr. Alan Rabinowitz, Ken Roberson and Bob Love. Lipton's recent acting credits include The Guys and The Vagina Monologues in New York City, and recurring roles on the "Popular" and "Alias." In 2004 she published her autobiography Breathing Out.

The New York-based Our Time Theatre Company consists of pre-teens and teenagers who study acting, singing, playwriting, drumming and dance with professional artists. Using these skills, they create original plays that are performed around the world.

The performance will take place at the Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University, 566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square South. Dinner to follow is at Chinatown Brasserie, 380 Lafayette Street. For tickets and more information, call (212) 414-9696 or visit www.ourtimetheatre.org.
