News Chalfant, Marvel, Wiest, Mahoney, Pendleton Featured in Classic Stage Chekhov Series Off-Broadway's Classic Stage Company announced details of its early 2007 First Look Festival, a program of one-night-only staged readings of rarely seen classics, performed by notable actors.

Works by Anton Chekhov will be the winter series focus. The actors bringing the Russian master to life will include Kathleen Chalfant, Dianne Wiest, John Mahoney, Peter Dinklage, Jessica Hecht, Elizabeth Marvel and many others.

Brian Kulick is CSC's artistic director.

The First Look schedule includes:

  • Jan. 22 at 8 PM: Kathleen Chalfant in The Cherry Orchard, directed by Diane Paulus.

  • Jan. 29 at 8 PM: Dianne Wiest in The Seagull, with John Mahoney, Jessica Hecht, Bill Camp, Michael Stuhlbarg, directed by Austin Pendleton.
  • Feb. 5: Peter Dinklage in Uncle Vanya, directed by Erica Schmidt.
