Kandis Chappell will recreate the role of Ruth Steiner in Donald Margulies' Collected Stories when it opens Sept. 18 at the Old Globe Theatre for a six-week run. Chappell originated the role in the play's world premiere at South Coast Rep in 1996.

Joining her in the two-character play is Sarah Rafferty, who is making her Chappell Recreates Steiner in Stories Opening Sept. 18 at SD's Old Globe Globe debut in Collected Stories. She has previously appeared in Molly's Dream, Twelfth Night and The Moonstone at Williamstown Theatre Festival. She earned an MFA at the Yale School of Drama.

Anne McNaughton directs this tale of an aging writer and her young protégé, whose thirst for fame and power undermines their seemingly warm, respectful relationship.
