Hofheimer will assume the role of Curtis Lyons, succeeding Michael Esper, who plays his final performance June 10.

The cast also features 2012 Best Actress Tony nominee Linda Lavin, Dick Latessa, Kate Jennings Grant, Brenda Pressley and Gregory Wooddell.

Charlie Hofheimer previously appeared on Broadway in On the Waterfront and at Lincoln Center in Old Money, directed by Mark Brokaw. Other theatre credits include Minor Demons at Century Center, Opelika at Third Eye Rep and Without Walls, directed by Christopher Ashley at Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Written by Silver and directed by Mark Brokaw, The Lyons is produced on Broadway by Kathleen K. Johnson.

The play is described as a "funny and edgy work starring Linda Lavin as Rita Lyons, the indomitable matriarch of a family at a major crossroads: her husband is dying, her son's in a dubious relationship, her daughter's struggling to stay sober and on top of it all, she can't settle on a new design for the living room."
