Producers announced Aug. 20 that Parry (Coram Boy, The Real Thing) will play Catherine Winslow. She joins Rees (Peter and the Starcatcher, Nicholas Nickelby) as Arthur Winslow and Tony and Academy Award nominee Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (Man of La Mancha) as Grace Winslow.
Terence Rattigan's classic play about family loyalty will be directed by Olivier Award winner Lindsay Posner, who recently staged the play to great acclaim at London's Old Vic. The Winslow Boy will begin previews Sept. 20, with an official opening set for Oct. 17. The engagement is currently scheduled through Dec. 1.
The cast also includes Tony Award nominee Michael Cumpsty (End of the Rainbow, Copenhagen) as Desmond Curry, Alessandro Nivola (The Elephant Man) as Sir Robert Morton, Zachary Booth (The Mound Builders) as Dickie Winslow, Spencer Davis Milford (Billy Elliot) in his Broadway debut as Ronnie Winslow, Chandler Williams (In the Next Room...) as John Watherstone, Meredith Forlenza (Pal Joey) as Miss Barnes, Stephen Pilkington (One Man, Two Guvnors) as Fred and Henny Russell (The Other Place) as Violet.
According to the Roundabout, "A moving exploration of family devotion, The Winslow Boy beautifully illustrates the costs of unconditional love and the rewards that make the effort priceless." The Winslow Boy premiered in London in 1946 and on Broadway in 1947.
