Charly Evon Simpson and Abe Koogler are this year’s recipients of the Dramatists Guild’s Lanford Wilson Award, given to writers early in their careers through contributions from Wilson's estate, matched by the Dramatists Guild.

Koogler's work includes Aspen Ideas (upcoming at DC’s Studio Theatre), the Obie-winning Fulfillment Center, Kill Floor, and Lisa, My Friend.

Simpson has written works such as Behind the Sheet, form of a girl unknown, Jump, and it’s not a trip it’s a journey.

The Dramatists Guild will present the awards at a ceremony on July 29 at the American Airlines Theatre’s Penthouse Lobby.
