Spanish actress, Charo Lopez, winner of the Goya 98 prize for best actress for her role in the movie Secretos del Corazon (Secrets of the Heart) (which was nominated for an Oscar for best foreign film), makes her theatrical return with the play, Tengamos el sexo en paz (Let Us Have Sex in Peace) by Nobel Prize-winner Dario Fo.

The play runs in Madrid's Teatro Lara, which is run by Pigmalion Productions ( Man of La Mancha and Sweeney Todd).

Tengamos el sexo en paz, which opened in Italy in 1994, is written by Dario Fo and his wife, Franca Rame. It is based on a book written by their son, Jacopo Fo, called Zen: The Art of Lovemaking.

The play deals with sentimental and physical relationships. According to Rame, "It is a show in which advice is given about love to young people in order to avoid the lack of understanding between couples."

Spain is the very first country outside of Italy where this play is being performed. It has been adapted and translated by Carla Matteini. The director is Jose Carlos Plaza. (who also directed La Rosa Tatuada.) This production is the first of a series of premieres from Fo, which will take place throughout Spain, Barcelona and Sevilla being the next cities to present his work.
