News Chase, Hilty, Levy and Thoms Will Join Composer Alan at Birdland Composer-lyricist Scott Alan will return to the famed jazz club Birdland June 15.

The evening, which is titled Just Me . . . and Them: The Songs of Scott Alan, will feature Alan, with just a piano, performing selections from his two CDs, "Dreaming Wide Awake" and "Keys." Show time is 7 PM. Alan will be joined by special guests Will Chase, Megan Hilty, Caissie Levy and Tracie Thoms.

The evening will also celebrate the re-release of "Keys," which features two brand-new tracks: "Please Don’t Let Me Go," performed by Caissie Levy and "Nothing More," performed by Alan. The Special Edition CD will also feature six karaoke tracks from "Keys": "West," "And There it Is," "Blessing," "Behind These Walls," "Again" and "The Distance You Have Come." The CD will be available exclusively at CDBaby.com beginning June 15. Alan will sign copies of the CD following the upcoming concert.

Scott Alan wrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical Detour, which was seen in Los Angeles. His current theatre projects include Piece, which was featured at the 2003 Palo Alto TheatreWorks festival, the 2005 NAMT festival and the 2007 Festival of New Musicals at Village Theatre; and the song cycle The Warmth of the Womb. He also produces the monthly Monday Nights, New Voices concert at the Duplex. Alan's music is available on his website, scottalan.net, and at iTunes.
