Newman will chat about her Blue Apple children’s books, "What’s New at the Zoo" as well as the brand-new "Flying to Neverland with Peter Pan," which is based on the lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green. (Newman was married to Mr. Green from 1940 until his death in 2002.)

The weekly live talk show, which includes interviews and performances from Broadway stars, is now held at 5 PM (to accommodate 7 PM curtains) at the New York cabaret Don't Tell Mama. There is a $10 donation and a two-drink minimum. The donation goes directly to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the nation's leading industry-based, not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization.

For this week, the donations will go to The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative/The Actors Fund, which was created to address the myriad of concerns women face when dealing with health issues.

Phyllis Newman made her Broadway debut in 1952 in the original musical comedy Wish You Were Here. She received a Tony Award for her performance in Subways Are for Sleeping and a Tony nomination for her work in Neil Simon's Broadway Bound. Her other Broadway credits include Bells Are Ringing, First Impressions, Moonbirds, The Apple Tree, On the Town, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, The Madwoman of Central Park West and Awake and Sing! She married Adolph Green in 1960 with whom she had two children, Amanda and Adam. Newman is the founder of the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, part of the Actors' Fund of America. Read more about her in the Playbill Vault.

Don't Tell Mama is located in New York City on West 46th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. Call (212) 757-0788 for reservations. DVDs of the talk show are available by visiting sethrudetsky.com. *
