Brooke Sterling and Emily Rose Lyons in Mystic Pizza The John W. Engeman Theater

The John W. Engeman Theater production of Mystic Pizza—A New Musical officially opened at the Northport, New York, venue  September 15.

Based on the 1988 movie starring Julia Roberts, Mystic Pizza follows three waitresses living in the harbor town of Mystic, Connecticut, utilizing the pop songs of the 1980's and 1990's that fill their world, including music by Cyndi Lauper, Wilson Phillips, and Berlin. Performances continue through October 30.

Mystic Pizza is directed by Igor Goldin and choreographed by Ashley Marinelli.

The cast features Emily Rose Lyons as Daisy, Brooke Sterling as Kat, and Michelle Beth Herman as Jojo. They are joined by Kathryn Markey as Leona, Corbin Payne as Tim, Stephen Cerf as Bill, and Jake Bentley Young as Charlie.

The ensemble includes Carey Blackburn, Coleman Cummings, brandon Kallen, Kent M. Lewis, Paris Martino, Michael Morley, Andryi Nahirniak, Brandt Norris, Hannah Record, Molly Samson, and Elise Shangold.

Featuring a book by Sandy Rustin, with stories and characters by Amy Holden Jones, the creative team also includes Sarah Wussow as musical director, Kyle Dixon as scenic designer, Dustin Cross as costume designer, Jose Santiago as lighting designer, Laura Shubert as sound designer, Kristie Moschetta as prop designer, Aaron A. Watson as the production stage manager, Kayla Goldsborough as the assistant stage manager, Tiger Brown as the associate choreographer, Jennifer Collester as the director of production, and Richard Dolce as the producing artistic director. The production was cast by the Wojcik Casting Team.
