PlayBlog Chenoweth on "Idol" Fresh off an Emmy win for her role in "Pushing Daisies" and a guest appearance on FOX’s smash hit “Glee,” Broadway favorite Kristin Chenoweth kept her television star rising as last night’s guest judge on "American Idol."

Chenoweth, most famous among theatregoers for creating the role of Glinda in Wicked, hit it off with fellow judge Kara DioGuardi immediately. The two, bookended on the judge’s panel by Randy Jackson and an especially surly Simon Cowell, injected a much-needed dose of sunshine into the proceedings. They filled the evening with giggles and “you go, girl!”-type high fives, and even snuck a few moments between auditioners to show off their impressive vocal chops.

Not surprisingly, their antics weren’t universally appreciated. “I think we’re annoying Simon,” Chenoweth joked.

Next up, Chenoweth will return to the Broadway stage to star in the eagerly awaited revival of Promises, Promises, set to open in April of this year.
