Deadline reports that actor Cheyenne Jackson has been cast in the TV Land pilot American Woman.

The cast also includes Jennifer Bartels, Alicia Silverstone (Time Stands Still) and Mena Suvari. Silverstone leads the plotline as Bonnie, the single mother of two daughters—an anomaly in the 1970s setting. Jackson plays Greg, Kathleen’s (Suvari) boyfriend who raises suspicion amongst Bonnie and Diane.

John Wells Productions will produce in association with Warner Horizon Television for TV Land, and the series will be executive-produced by Wells and John Riggi, who wrote the pilot script. Richards will co-executive produce.

The actor was seen on Broadway as Chad in Broadway’s All Shook Up, Sonny in Xanadu and Woody Mahoney in the 2009 revival of Finian’s Rainbow. Jackson made his Broadway debut covering both male lead roles in Thoroughly Modern Millie. He was last seen on the Great White Way in 2012’s The Performers. Since then, Jackson has become a small-screen regular.

He played Danny Baker on the hit comedy 30 Rock and the vocal coach of the group Vocal Adrenaline on Glee. This past year he worked with Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer on American Horror Story: Hotel from executive producer Ryan Murphy.

Jackson also dabbled in musical projects, including the two-night special concert of The Secret Garden at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall as Dr. Neville Craven and the release of his new album, Renaissance, in June.
