Equity Showcase Theatre is staging the 1972 hit Pippin. Equity Showcase runs out of Harbourfront Centre's Studio Theatre and is dedicated to giving professional theatre artists the opportunity to expand their talents in new directions. This is the third musical staged by Equity, following its mandate of providing a showcase for emerging musical theatre artists.

Equity Showcase has a strong following and reputation in Toronto. Over the last two years the addition of musicals to its yearly line-up has proven successful.

And the curtain has gone up on a series of public workshops of Livent Inc.'s newest work Fosse: A Life in Song & Dance at the National Ballet's Walter Carsen Centre. Geared to an invited audience and contest winners, Garth Drabinsky is following his previously successful blueprint that began with Ragtime. The public exposure of this compilation of Fosse hits began earlier in the week with a sneak preview for the media and will officially open at the Ford Centre For the Performing Arts in late spring or early summer.
