The "Roxie" company of Chicago, on tour since March 1997, got its exit music April 30 in Springfield, IL.

The company ended its three-year stint there, with M. Agnes, P.J. Benjamin, Roxane Carrasco (as Velma), Clarke Peters, Tracy Shayne (as Roxie) and Carol Woods.

The tour of the lauded Broadway revival began in Cincinnati. The second tour, the "Velma" company, began in December 1997 and continued to Feb. 27, 2000, when it closed in Las Vegas after a nearly yearlong desert sitdown.

A representative of the national touring productions of the John Kander Fred Ebb musical, produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, said there was talk about reviving a road company for fall dates, possibly beginning in October.

The Broadway company continues at the Shubert Theatre with Sharon Lawrence and Charlotte d'Amboise.
