CHICAGO--As a prime play in its 1998-99 season, Organic Touchstone Company will produce the American premiere of Billy Roche's Irish drama Belfry. Set in the belfry of a church in southern Ireland, the drama focuses on five small-town misfits.
The work is the third play in the playwright's much- acclaimed Wexford Trilogy, which includes the award- winning A Handful of Stars and Poor Beast in the Rain. A member of an exciting new generation, Roche is a young Irish playwright and actor who, like Wilde before him, has taken London by storm. Chicago could fall next.
